The Problem We Are Solving

The healthcare system was not built for you.

It was built for profit. Designed around volume, not people—where fifteen-minute appointments are the norm, chronic conditions are managed rather than resolved. Providers aren't failing you because they don't care. They're failing you because a system optimized for billing codes and throughput leaves no room for what actually heals people: time, attention, and the full story of who you are.

It treats you like a diagnosis, not a human being.

Every person carries a unique constellation of biology, history, culture, trauma, environment, and belief. Yet, all of this is expected to fit neatly into a diagnosis and a prescription. The result is care that addresses symptoms while leaving root causes untouched and patients feeling unseen, unheard, and unhelped.

Entire communities have been written out of the equation.

People of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, our aging community, and people living with disabilities haven't just been underserved—they've been actively excluded, misdiagnosed, dismissed, and in many cases, harmed. The system's blind spots are not accidents. And to reverse the damage, we must be intentional about centering communities that have been left out.

The divide between "medicine" and "healing" is its own kind of harm.

Western medicine holds a monopoly on insurance coverage while looking down its nose at traditional and integrative practices with centuries of evidence behind them. Meanwhile, the alternative health world operates outside the financial reach of most people and, without clinical integration, can sometimes promote decisions that carry real risk. Patients are forced to choose a lane. Neither lane contains the whole truth.

Something different is possible.

Who We Are

A team built on alignment and inclusion, not just credentials.

We are here because we believe at our cores that healing is bigger than diagnoses and prescriptions. We chose this work because connection matters to us. Because co-creating wellness with another human being is meaningful to us. We are starting something new for LGBTQ+ folks like us. For immigrants and people with disabilities, visible or not, because everyone deserves genuine equity when it comes to health—and we mean equitable outcomes not "opportunities".

We practice collaboration as a discipline.

At EmbodyWell, your care team talks to each other. Your primary care provider, your behavioral health therapist, your acupuncturist—they are not operating in separate silos hoping their pieces add up to something coherent. Collaboration here is structural, not incidental. It is built into how we work, because we believe that the most honest picture of a person's health emerges from many perspectives held together, not one perspective held alone. And as the patient, your perspective comes first.

We go deeper than the diagnosis. We look to understand you as a whole person.

We believe every process in the body has layers. Medication addresses the chemical layer—and sometimes that is exactly what saves a life, and we will never pretend otherwise. But beneath and alongside that layer are energetic, emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions that shape health just as powerfully. We ask different questions here. We want to know your relationship to yourself. To your sense of purpose and meaning. To your family, your community, the people you love and the ones who have hurt you. We want to understand what wellness actually means for you—in your culture and native language—and help you tackle what has been standing in its way.

We have done our own work — and we keep doing it.

Every person on this team has gone inward. We have sat with our own histories, our own patterns, our own barriers to wholeness—and we have done the work of healing them, honestly and imperfectly and ongoing. We believe you cannot genuinely guide someone toward alignment you have not sought yourself. So we practice what we offer. We tend to our own roots so that when we show up for you, we are showing up fully—not as experts standing above you, but as fellow travelers who know the terrain.

We are not an alternative to the healthcare system. We are what healthcare can look like when it's built for the community by the community.
